Cannot install windows 10 on XPS8300

Im trying to install win 10 on a dell xps 8300. It doesnt support UEFI, and the hard drive im using is a 500gb Maxtor HDD. Can anyone explain why id be getting this error? Ive tried everything googles given me.

Did you create a partition on that hard drive?

 

It looks like it's just unallocated space, which you can't boot to. Unallocated space, to your computer, is nearly the same as not having a hard drive installed at all.

I did that aswell, got the same error. It was a 50GB partition

Is the hard drive formatted as MBR?

 

Windows 10 doesn't like GPT formats from my experience
