Laptop making weird sound

Zeus1124

I recently got a new rog zephyrus m16(i7 12700, rtx 3060)lapto that seemed to be working fine but last night I noticed a electric like buzzing/grinding sound, I've tried troubleshooting but I can't figure out what it is. It doesn't seem to be fan or speakers. I've switched a 8gb ddr5 with a 16 gb and added a 1tb Samsung SSD, idk if that had to do with anything. Is there any way to fix it? Is it a big problem? Should I return it and get a new one?

Does it sound like something between a buzzing bee and microwave?

Ig I'm being dense but I don't really understand what you mean by that. The best way I can describe the sound is a crackling static that I associate with electricity. It's not like a flat sound that sound exactly the same all the time, it's kinda erratic, sometimes louder sometimes quieter. I haven't really noticed a difference when its under high load vs low. I typically can hear it faintly when I'm using it normally

my experience with that crackling sound is heat pipes and adhesive or other tacky substances.

Do you know if I should be concerned about it? Will it go away with time? Or will it be like that forever. Also, do you know why it started? Is the laptop defective?

Lots of questions, some answers:

-Shouldn't be too concerned unless other things start going wrong

-if it's heat pipes and something tacky, it'll go away once it's cured dry

-any number of things could have started it, probably when you opened it up if there was adhesive somewhere

-probably not, keep an eye and ear out for anything else that could happen.

It was hard to pick up with my phone so you have to turn volume up a lot to hear it well
