SSHD have the weaknesses of both the SSD-s and HDD-s. They are good for stuff where you frequently load the same files, let's say a game drive for a game you're playing for years, not that good for stuff that changes a lot (like Windows and other OS-es). I guess better than regular HDD-s, but nowhere near an SSD. And you might see the speed gains over time, not right then on a clean OS. But you've got nothing to lose. Just get an small (120-256GB) SSD for the OS on the cheap, and use that SSHD for other stuff.
