Wanting to upgrade my CPU from a 3600X

To not bottleneck the 3080 I'd recommend the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

The cheapest - 5700X. I would not recommend a 5600 or 5600X as an upgrade to the 3600x, it's the same number of cores.

some of my friends also recommended the 5800X3D I am going to take a closer look at it. Thanks for the help!

Don't forget to update the bios to the latest BEFORE installing the new CPU.

Oh ya that's on the list of things to do before I put in the new CPU. I am not missing out on anything technology wise by not getting a new motherboard am I?
