ASUS Armoury Crate - Fan Xpert - Auto Fan Tuning Causing BSOD

RZO

Anyone had an issue like this before?

I had updated to the newest version of the Armoury Crate software (which I don't enjoy if you have alternative suggestions), and it erased all my fan profiles as well as putting my fans at 100% by default.

I went to set them back but noticed it wasn't saving, and I got an alert that I needed to run the Auto Fan Tuner to restore functionality. So I did, and it gave me a BSOD with the error: CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT

Did some further research and replication of error, is indeed Armoury Crate causing the BSOD.

Motherboard is: Asus Rog Strix Z690-E Gaming Wifi

Case Fans: Arctic P14 PWM PST A-RGB

OS: Windows 11 (22H2)

Yes. Armoury crate is the spawn of the devil. Use the official uninstallation tool to remove it. https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury crate/helpdesk_download/

Also disable Armoury crate in bios.
