Disposing bloated powerbanks

Poinkachu

Soo, I have several powerbanks with bloated battery, anything I should do to it before disposal ?
In where I live, there is no special facility to process this, there is also no special drop point for e-waste.
Anything I should do to make it safer before I throw it to garbage ?

To mod : Idk where this kinda question should be posted in, so please move it to appropriate place if you feel it should've been there instead.

If you live in the US, you can take the lithium/rechargeable batteries to a local Home Depot and they have disposal bins for them.

Hey, thanks for replying.

Unfortunately, not in US.

I found 1 company in my country that receives this kinda e-waste, but it's really damn far, and I don't think I should send this over mail. 馃様

Maybe you could vacuum seal them so they don鈥檛 let off fumes and it鈥檚 obvious not to touch them?

Well yeah, I intended to seal it and put a big notice on it.
the prob in my mind is that I still need to throw it to the garbage after.
Basically I just don't want it to be the cause of fire or something after I throw them away.

Shit ton of cheap powerbanks being sold, bought & used here. Lack of proper disposal spot.

I鈥檇 just throw them all away at once and then put your bin at the curb. If it catches on fire it鈥檚 not near anyone鈥檚 house. Unless you live in an apartment or other area where you can鈥檛 do that, then I have no clue.聽

Yeah there's one little problem with that:

Router:聽 Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

Exactly what I am trying to avoid, especially since in my city houses are pretty much touching each other's side walls. @_@

A few layers of plastic wrap will do. Even if the batteries break open they will not spontaneously explode, heat up or combust as long as the contents are not exposed to water or air. If you want, label it as e-waste to help the people at the garbage disposal center identify it correctly.

If your city has not put in place e-waste collection bins/sites, then its just not reasonable to travel long distance or go to the elaborate expense to ensure proper disposal at the end of chain.

I'll follow your advice and hope for the best.

Thank you everyone who replied to my post & tried to help. I appreciate it.
