I'm trying to pickup a tablet for my mother's birthday, she currently has a painfully slow old tablet.

 

Applications used:

  • Youtube
  • Facebook
  • Netflix
  • Some simple 2D games

 

I'm aware that probably any tablet would do, but I'm looking for the best bang for the buck tablet at that price range.

 

So far I'm opting for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8

If it has to be new or Android that's a good option. If used Apple devices are on the table that's right around the price of refurbished iPads, and frankly iPads are the best tablets on the market right now.

iPad minis are around 500. I've seen plenty of promotions for half off if you get a new phone and similar promotions. If that is a route you would consider.

And how much for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (Revision 2022)?

This one is much better, has Pen Support, Pen included, and even supports Samsung DEX. There's really alot you can do with it.

 

If Price difference is not like 2x, absolutely go for the Tab S6 Lite.

I ended up getting the A8 on discount, plus she wouldn't really use the pen 😅
