RTX 4080 way slower then expected

WatchAndSpy

Hi there,

I recently bought a rtx 4080 and just installed it. Wierdly i get insanely bad performance for a card like this. Minecraft is running without shaders or something with 100 frames sometimes even dropping down to 60.

Also Satsifactroy is basicly the same as it was with my rtx 2070. Does anybody got an Idea why it is like this? I got a core i9 9900k strongly overclocked so I don't think that this is causing my problem.

RAM is also pretty good with 3600mhz 32 gb kit.

Did you use DDU to remove all previous graphics drivers before installing the current drivers for the 4080 preferably through Geforce Experience, or are you just using the drivers that Windows auto installs?

If the drivers don't help it could be an issue with something else, if you could list your full system specs and monitor make and model it would help us out a ton.

The new drivers have some performance issues with Minecraft and you're severely bottlenecked by your CPU at 1080p and even 1440p in some cases. Satisfactory is quite a bit CPU demanding game.

Both Minecraft and Satisfactory run without issue on my 9900K / 1080Ti.    It's not the CPU.

As I said. Minecraft has issues because of drivers that's unrelated to 1000 series. I don't play Satisfactory much at all but that game is heavily CPU bound and by how much depends on how much stuff you've got going on in the game. Also the 1st comment applies as well, if OP did not use DDU after changing GPUs he may be encountering performance issues because of that as well.

Okay so first of all yes I used DDU to remove my graphic drivers and got the newest from nvidias website.

My full pc specs are:

CPU:i9 9900k @4.8ghz

GPU: Gainward Phantom RTX 4080

RAM: 32 gb corsair vengance 3600

Storage: Samsung 970 evo 500gb

Mainboard: msi z370 gaming pro carbon

PSU: 750w ROG Strix.

Monitor: lg-27gp850-b (1440p) (144hz)

I'm sorry but I dont quite get what you mean by modeling it.
