New PC keeps black screening at random

I would appreciate all the help I can get because I have tried almost everything.

After the mining crash, I figured I would get back on gaming on PC so I bought a bunch of parts. I bought a used 3080 and some Corsair RAM and everything else such as the fans, processor, power supply, and motherboard was purchased new from Amazon. Everything worked perfectly for the first 2 or 3 weeks. One day, I turn on my computer and I start suddenly getting freezes followed by black screens in which my monitor tells me I have no signal. Reconnecting the display port and the power cable to the monitor gives me the same problem. On Event Viewer, I get a bunch of Nvlddmkm errors.

I have tried updating all my drivers from sound to GPU, running memtest on the RAM, reseating my GPU, reconnecting all my cables, running a clean boot, trying different display ports and cables, checking disk health, uninstalling iCue, removing my RAM overclock, updating my system, and some other things I can't remember at the moment.

At first I thought it was only from playing intensive games, but I have occasionally got black screens from just watching movies or typing up things. I asked around on the windows forum, and some guy pointed towards a potential GPU error. But when I installed WhoCrashed, a majority of them mentioned something about a CPU problem. I looked around, and people who had this problem recommended changing the Start value on the registry from 3 to 4. This did not help. Sometimes when it black screened, it would restart on its own and generate  a crash dump. If it helps, I have attached them here: https://gofile.io/d/IRDPYI.

Here are my specs:

Windows 10 Pro 21H2

Corasir Vengance RAM 2x8GB 3200MHz

Asus Strix B550-F Gaming

EVGA RTX 3080 12 GB

EVGA Supernova G7 750W

Ryzen 5 5600

Please let me know if I'm missing any more information to provide. I spent almost $1200 in this and it's frustrating to see it potentially get wasted.

Was this a fresh install of windows? A windows "reset/refresh" (no install media needed) solved 100% of what I thought were GPU/PSU related crashes.

If you have a way to backup your files and don't mind reinstalling your programs, I would give this a try.

Do you have any info or logs about CPU/GPU/MB Temperatures before a crash? How about Wattage?

You might also investigate the PSU connection to the GPU. Remove, reseat, and use a different PSU PCIE cable for each 8pin GPU connection instead of using the pigtail from a single PCIe cable if possible.

Salt SYSTEMs:

I do not have logs, but I do use MSI Afterburner to monitor wattage and temperatures. The CPU tops out at around 86 while the GPU at about  65 and averages around 200 - 320 watts depending on the game. One of the first things I made sure of was that each port on my 3080 used an individual cable each, so no pigtailing there. I will try to reinstall windows though.

It was kind of a new windows install since I used the same drive that had my OS in it, but I had to reactivate it with a different license.

Are you using one of the latest Bios versions?

https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b550-f-gaming-model/helpdesk_bios/

The latest was released a couple days ago.

Also, the latest AMD chipset drivers fix some Blue Screen and Black Screen issues.

Does your GPU also have the latest available vBIOS?

It sucks but i would 100% recommend a windows refresh/reset. It can be done through the Settings menu if you don't have a removable USB.

You'll have to reinstall all your programs again which sucks, but it's better than suffering thru crashes

86C on CPU is too high, go to Bios and set CPU fan to be 100% at 60C. If temps higher than 65-75C on CPU still persist, you need a better cooler.

Did you use DDU in safe mode when you replaced drivers ? Latest driver is not the most compatible driver. Not with your GPU and not with the games. This may take more time testing but it is worth finding. As for Troubleshooting, use the driver that came with your GPU, only.
