Need your opinion on my first PC

Mukhriz

Hello, I am very new about PC and I have zero experience what I should buy or not buy. So far, i know that I want to play video games and using the following specs:

i5-12400f

RTX 3060 12gb

500GB NVME SSD

However, I noticed most shops selling package with MOBO Asrocks B660M. People hated it for some reason. I really don't know what should I buy or find. What's the recommended motherboard?

Does the imaged attached is a good one? Thanks

that one in the picture is a Gigabyte H610; I would rather get the ASRock B660 since it has more features. Also you will want to avoid single channel setups, or further upgrade with another 8gb for dual channel on your own after.

Are you building it yourself? For 1080p and 1440p that build is fine, with the exception of the ram, 16gb is pretty much minimum.

Why a 3060? In most of the world the faster 6600xt is cheaper

I saw comments on this forum says, avoid Asrock b660m HDV. Because of watt or something. It's like, it requires 125w but the mobo only offered up to 95w. So the cpu not actually using its full cores. Correct me if I'm wrong. That's why I want to ask is it really an issue. Even videos on youtube says, asrock is worst.

power limits. I wouldn't prefer the ASRock stuff, but B660 spec is going to be better than H610. Memory you can OC, and even if the ASRock B660M has a power limit at 95w, there's no telling that the H610 won't be worse. It's also likely in gaming loads a power limit isn't going to manifest, only in full-power CPU tests and tasks.

Ideally you choose your own parts and assemble based on reviews for specific parts.
