Will a Radeon HD 7000 series GPU be able to run a 4K display?

whatsup1396

Hey y'all,

My dad is looking to upgrade his 15 year old 1080p LCD monitor with a new 4k 32 inch one. His computer is kind of old but still plenty fast for what he uses it for -- mainly chrome, photo management, and tax programs. His specs are an i5 3470, 8gb of RAM, 500gb SSD,  and a Radeon HD 7000 series gpu.

Now that GPU is quite old and I'm not entirely sure which exact model in the 7000 series it is. I don't doubt it can push the pixels but I'm more worried that it doesn't have the ports to output a 4k signal.

It's hard to find info on these cards especially with the impending release of the RX 7000 series, any insight into these 10 year old cards would be very much appreciated, thanks!

You can always use GPUZ to identify which card you got. IIRC, HD79xx cards had DP but lower end HD78xx and HD77xx cards mostly didnt.
