750 Ti if it's pushing the budget: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-n750ti2gd5oc

i just got arma 3 and with everything on standard i only get 25-30fps(@1920x1080) and i want to try and get 60fps+. I only want to spend about $150 as my pc is very new and i just had to spend more money on it today to more ram.

Specs:

AMD FX-6300 (3.5GHZ) 6 CORE

8GB G.Skill ram

Asus e 650 GTX 1GB

I found this Sapphire R7 240 2G DDR3 would it be better or worse ?

Thank you for your time :)

the R7 240 is gonna run it way worse. The 650 is way better in performance.

A 780 ti can barley manage 60 fps on arma 3 and you only have a $150 budget, your expectations are too high. just keep what u have that can run 30 fps

Wow i had no idea a 780ti could only just hit 60fps. Thank you for telling me. But i might still look around and see if i can find something better than my card.

I would wait to save up some more moola at this point. 60+ fps on Arma 3 is unattainable at the $150 price point. My 770 barely keeps it at 50fps. If you're really itching for an upgrade, I'd grab a 750 ti. Anandtech's benchmarks pits it against your current GPU, here.

2nd Rig: Illya V1, the Air Cooled Prodigy: ||i7 4790k 4.4GHz @ 1.3v|| |NVIDIA RTX 2080 FE|| ||Be Quiet! Dark Rock 2|| ||ASRock Z87-E|| ||SeaSonic G-Series 550w (Carbon Fiber Mod)||

Arma is extremely cpu dependent. You have to have something like an i5-4440 or up. Arma engine heavily favours Intel and doesn't depend on GPUs to a big extend like other current gen titles. So with an fx-6300 you won't be getting high framerates anyway I'm afraid.

Arma 3 is an outlier (in terms of how demanding it is).

It's not a good indication of how your PC will perform in other games.

Save up some money and then get a better gpu for like around 200-400
