Is Overwatch2 safe now?

podkall

I heared people's components and GPUs dying, just because they were playing or changing settings in Overwatch 2,

were those issues resolved?

Never heard of that one, only some random system crashes, which is expected in a new title. Where did you hear that, maybe a new topic for Tech News if you can find some more details on it.

Any time there are reports of a game breaking computer hardware, it's always just a case of those games happening to trip up already faulty hardware, like we saw with New World and the EVGA 3090 cards. Modern computer hardware should not be capable of being broken with software. It'd have to be actively malicious to do it on hardware that's functioning correctly.

So it's always been safe, in other words.

If you read where issues are, its always with newer hardware. I've been playing OW2 couple hours daily with GTX1070 (bought used) without any major issues. Some performance problems at launch and some lagging every now and then. But nothing out of ordinary.

Hi Drm, I've seem to come to a conclusion that whatever it was it's probably resolved,

though I gotta ask I don't know if you know this if you don't just reply that you don't know, (3 questions)

in OW2 I'm getting less fps then I got in OW, even in practice range which is practicaly same as old,

in R6 siege I'm encountering never seen before "internet" stutters, where internet connection/packet loss/something freezes the game for solid 5 seconds,

and finally can I follow you, I know the option is there so technicaly I can follow the whole userbase, I obvously won't bother you or quote you, mainly for misplaced threads while I catch you online for speed.

thx

It is new game with newer visuals. Your GPU was budget when it launched. So maybe drop some of the visuals down a bit if you are between good and playable fps. We are talking about fast-paced competitive shooter. And there's reason why games like Fortnite, Valorant and CSGO have graphics like they were made in 2005.

Could be everything from game patch issues to your ISP changing something to something temporary.

If someone doesn't like that you are following them, they can ignore you. Following here isn't same as being friends on Facebook. Its more like following someone on Twitter or Youtube.

yeah but OW's graphics look far better, yet they ran smoothly in the older version on high details

I get it, but I'd waste time figuring out of the followed person is online, and quoting them would also be waste of time
