Tips on Starting Using Rasberry Pi and Arduino

I have been wanting to get into microcontrollers and tinkering with projects that use these two "mini-computers". 

 

Arduinos- Where exactly should i start? There are so many different modules and what not. Any suggestions on what i should start with?

 

Pi- is it worth it? Any links to project guides for this device?
