420mm radiator + 360mm radiator configuration / best case

Drizzt

I purchased a phanteks p600s and plan on installing a 420mm radiator with the i7-13700k in the front using push/pull as intake. I also plan on purchasing a 7900 xtx in December and using a 360mm radiator to cool it out the top exhausting out. I will then have a 140mm and 120mm fan exhaust in the back. Does anyone know if this is possible with the p600s?

It seems like it is from the manual. Any other cases you would recommend over the p600s?

What is the measurements of the 420mm that you picked out?

This is including the little tank where the in/out ports are.

Phanteks does mention the maximum clearance at the front is 465mm.

Given that there IS a PSU shroud at the bottom (I don't think it can be removed), you are limited to having the in/out ports at the top.

EDIT:

I found a build shared on reddit.

They are using a THICK 420mm at the front, and what looks like a standard size 280mm at the top.

It looks like, if you put a 420mm at the front, the 360mm at the top might not fit -- the thickness of the radiator + fans will cause some obstruction.

Someone on the Level1Techs forum has a 420mm front + 280mm top setup.

Looks like 420 + 360 is a no-go, but...

  • 280F + 280T is no issue
  • 360F + 280T should be good
  • 420F + 280T is no issue
  • 360F + 360T *might* be okay?

The dimensions are 458 (L) x 38 (W) x 138 (H) mm.

I might just try to make a 280mm work on top. Another issues is Amazon delayed my case delivery until December 5th so I could switch to another case that could be delivered sooner and build my system with a rtx 3070 I have as a temporary gpu. Any other cases you would recommend?

What are the dimensions of the 360mm radiator you are looking at?

Okay, the front radiator will basically take up the entire front with a few mm to spare.

38mm thick radiator + 25mm fan (assuming standard fan) = ~63mm

The front setup will eat up 63mm from the top.

The top supports up to 405mm.

405mm - 63mm  = 342mm

Using...something like EKwb 360mm CoolStream PE radiator as reference, it is 393mm in length.

Something like the Corsair 360mm Hydro X radiator is 396mm.

Sooo...yeah 360mm wont fit at the top.

A 280mm radiator, like the EKwb P280M is 325mm long.

Corsair Hydro X XR5 280mm is 310mm.

That will clear the top.

Phanteks P600s goes for about $180 USD (I'm assuming you are in the US? ).

I'm looking at alternate cases, like the Lian-Li O11 Dynamic .... but that only supports (mulitple) 360mm radiators -- no support for 420mm.

Same situation for something like a Corsair 5000D Airflow...limited to 360mm radiators at the front.

For 420F + 360T, you need a case that is both LONG and TALL.

So... case that is classified as "ATX Full Tower", rather than "ATX Mid Tower".

The new Lian-Li Lancool III *might* be able to do 420F, 360T...will need confirmation, though.

Fractal Design Torrent might be able to do it.

420F, and says up to 420B.

Yes, the PSU is mounted at the TOP of the case.

Maybe the BeQuiet! Silent Base 802.
