Anyone who uses NordVPN pay close attention to the pricing. There are multiple prices for the same subscription and the "free months" are not free. For example, the 2 year plan is advertised as $2.99 USD/month + 3 months free for $80.73. $2.99 X 24=$71.76. Where are they getting the additional $8.97? The "3 free months". Although, if you interact if the chat bot it says the 2 year price is $99. The purchase page claims the 2 year plan is usually $223.83.  I have talked with a customer support, not to get anything for free, but to fix the issue. They claim that since the normal price for the 2 year subscription is $80.73 that the extra 3 months is free. The $223.83 is if 2 years were paid monthly. There is no where to buy the 2 year subscription for $80.73.  The customer support representative also said the monthly rate is just for comparison. There is no small print or asterisks stating this. After those 2 years the yearly auto renewal price is $99.48 which is the normal 2 year rate according to the chat bot. They said that they "created a ticket for the advanced billing team to contact me". I'm not trying to Karen this but buyers need to be aware of this marketing if they plan to use this service. The only asterisk on the page is for the $99.48/year after the initial 2 year subscription. the asterisk states "The price is valid for the first term of your subscription. After the first term, your subscription will be automatically renewed for an additional 1-year term annually and you will be charged at then-applicable renewal price. The price is subject to change, but we will always send you a notification email prior to charging." I did not receive this email when my subscription expired. I was just promptly charged the $99.48.

Unfortunately this seems to be fairly standard for VPN providers now days. Almost all of them, at least the big ones, have deliberately confusing pricing and advertise "free" months and cuts to prices that basically never exist in the first place.

This is one of the reasons I'll always recommend MULLVAD over the competition.

1 month = €5 per month

1 year = €5 per month

1 decade = €5 per month
