m.2 Need help pick long lasting pcie 4.0 m.2 ssd thank you for your time

Need pcie 4.0 fast drive with longevity for future prove gaming thanks for any advice I was looking at gigabyte aorus gen 4 pcie 4.0 drives and samsung Evo 980 pro or something like that any advice what ssd are good? I thx

Gen 3 still isnt used, let alone gen 4. Dont buy something with the "promise" that it may come to computers and be useful. Just wait until the drives ACTUALLY get used for it, then buy. Otherwise you are going to overspend on a drive you honestly dont need. Direct storage STILL does not exist on desktop, and even on consoles it barely makes a difference over just Normal SSD boot times where it started. 

 

NAND prices have fallen quite a bit and will continue to fall, just wait unitl they  actually get used. Dont futureproof something you dont need to when its that much more expensive.
