OK, this should work I believe.

Go to Settings / Accounts / scroll a bit down and DISABLE this

then the checkmark should be in the netplwiz

It's been happening for a few days now. When i press the power button the PC goes straight to the desktop without asking for login information, even though i have he windows hello PIN feature activated. It only asks for login information if i manually lock the computer. This is obviously a big security problem, so any help is appreciated.

I'm using the most recent public Windows 11 build 21H2, no updates available.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Press Win+R and type in netplwiz and press ENTER.

Then check if Users must enter a user name and password is enabled

OK, this should work I believe.

Go to Settings / Accounts / scroll a bit down and DISABLE this

That made the checkbox appear. Thanks! PC is currently updating to 22H2 so i can't manually restart. I'll let you know if it worked in a bit.

If the fix that @WereCatdoesn't work. Check out Regedit as admin user and navigate to "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon"

Look for "AutoAdminLogon" key, if it's set to 1 it will attempt to automatically log in. Set to 0 to disable.

It works now. Either it was your fix or the update itself. Thanks again!
