DDR5 Corsair Vengeance RAM not showing up in iCue

Hi Guys,

New build - I cannot get my memory to show up in iCue. I read online that I need to disable the SPD Write setting in my BIOS but I cannot find the setting.

Extract from other forum: Disable SPD write in bios.  SPD Write = FALSE

Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 Memory for AMD 4x16GB DDR5

Mobo: X670 Aorus Elite AX

Your help would be much appreciated.

Dumb question, but does your UEFI have a search function? I'n my Asus UEFI, that option is hidden under a bunch of sub-menus. Search finds it instantly.

And note sure how Gigabyte does it, but iirc you want SPD WRITE DISABLE == FALSE.

SPD write disable is an Intel thing, it's not a standard feature on AMD boards.

I'm having this exact problem too, fwiw. Gigabyte X670E Aorus Master, Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 kit with an iCUE logo on the box. iCUE controls the AIO just fine.

I was not aware SPD write is intel only thanks for clearing that up before I went down a rabbit hole.

I have contacted Corsair about this issue and they're offering an RMA for the memory kit. I asked what would be the point of swapping for a second set of RAM that functions the same way.

The support person said they'd "have the same concern as me" (re: pointless RMA) and "the new kit should not have this problem." They didn't go into any more detail.

I haven't taken them up on the RMA yet.

So they're not planning on fixing the issue... you just can't control corsair RGB on gigabyte mobo's??

X670E Crosshair / AM5 - having the same issue.

From my research/tests it is a conflict between Armoury crate and iCue - if you force close Armoury crate, delete and re install iCue, your ram should then display in the iCue software. However on the next boot, when both programs load the ram will stop showing and the RGB effects will default to rainbow puke again...

You arent alone here, Corsair Vengeance 5600 DDR5 for AMD, Tried on both Aorus Master X670E and ASRock X670e Taichi, GSkill Trident Z wouldnt detect in Polychrome or RGBFusion either. Any guesses to what the problem could be?

* Stolen from Corsair thread *

a temporary solution has been found...

worked straight away

try to disable Thunderbolt under the device manager:

- Two Components are involved: 1. Thunderbolt Controller, 2. Cypress UCM Client-Pheripherie driver.

Afterwards restart your PC. The RAM should now be recognized.

X670E Crosshair

Device Manager - System Devices folder - then Thunderbolt(TM) Controller - 1137

next one is UCMCLIENT listed within its own tab

I disabled the driver in the bios and its works fine for me now.
I have the Crosshair X670E Hero and here is where i disabled it:
Advanced -> AMD PBS -> Thunderbolt / USB4 Support: Disabled

Every Bios is a little different but I'm sure you'll find that option in your Bios aswell

All that i can find is Thunderbolt™ add-in card connector in AMD PBS 😞

Upgraded i9-13900k, asus z790e strix and  Corsair vengeance RGB DDR5.  Will boot and with xmt.  System shows memory and mhz fine.

but, sticks stuck in rainbow, icue won’t see them, cpuz doesn’t see them, motherboard memory codes in loop….. firmware on ram fails to update

contacted Asus and Corsair and they confirmed as of now the vengeance rgb isn’t compatible. Only the dominator and non rgb vengeance… wth?
