Linus' shoe dryer idea is now a Kickstarter

Linus mentioned it a few times on WAN show that he wanted his engineers to build a shoe dryer for his badminton shoes.

 

I don't know how far they've come but there is competition now.

I just put mine in the dryer on the rack it comes with.  Cool idea, world needs more entitled unnecessary products

They do, there are commercial versions and I didn't realize how vital they are to someone who works for a living.

Very true. My work boots go straight on my dryer when I get home from work.

My boots (or feet) never stink, and extends the life of the boot.

Over-vent dryers have existed for a long time.

There are also absorbent/deodorizer packs that have existed for a few years now for shoes/sport equipment. Helps dry them out and avoid the smell; I use them for my ball hockey shoes and gloves.

 

I kind of feel that just heating up sweaty or wet shoes wouldn't help the smell.

Boot dryers not only apply a very slight amount of heat, but they also circulate the heated air in and out of the boot/shoe.

This action not only dries the footwear, but also helps to remove any odors.

Until you actually use one, you wouldn't understand just how well they work.

In Canada you can find covers for your furnace registers that you set your boots and mitts on top of to dry out in the winter time.

I have this one for the winter and ski boots and mitts.  I haven't had a need for one in the summer.
