What's a great motherboard to pair with a Intel core i9 12900?

Hello there, I am trying to help a friend find a good motherboard to pair with his new Intel Core i9 12900 I am aware it needs to be 1700 socket compatible but i am unsure about what chipset to look out for as i am seeing alot of mention of B660M chipset and I am unsure if that's the chipset of this CPU i am confused and pc part picker isn't much help on my confidence,

Ideally if someone can recommend a good motherboard from msi to pair with this CPU I'd greatly appreciate the help.

So you figured the 12900 was a great CPU by my reply alone?

What's the entire build?  Post in New Builds and Planning, much easier for comprehensive help.

Yeah i wasn't sure about it but because he doesn't intend to overclock it seems like a good CPU to pair with his now ordered 3090ti, he's looking for a good motherboard that has roughly 7+usb ports and is compatible with the i9 12900 CPU but i am unsure by these chipset numbers its throwing me off

What's their uses for the pc? A 12900 would be a waste for if they're planning to only game

Consider the b660 x ax and b660 tomahawk then, both should be fine for a 12900 and appears to have enough USB type a ports
