My Macbook Pro(A1151)will only start when pressing the alt key

My macbook pro will only start booting when i manually press alt and goto the select menu, if don't it will display no bootable device

any ideas to just boot it right off?

Not with that little context. When did it start doing this, and what troubleshooting steps have you already run through?

Daily Devices: 2015 15" MacBook Pro running macOS Monterey (Work Laptop) - iPhone 13 Pro Max - Apple Watch S3

 

Other Misc Devices: 2012 MacBook Pro 13" running Linux Mint - Mac Pro 1,1 (2x dual cores as I haven't swapped the quads in yet, 32GB DDR2 and a 512MB HD4870) running El Cap/Lion/sometimes other Mac OS X versions - iPod Video (5th gen)

Its a laptop i bought from ebay

the seller have no idea why so do i

Did you pay for a working device, or as is/untested? If the former, then return it (and if that's refused put in a claim with eBay). If the latter, then run through the standard SMC and PRAM reset + booting into recovery mode (if possible) and running a repair on the internal drive. If that doesn't work, then try a clean install if possible (boot from an installer USB, use disk utility to wipe the drive, reformat as APFS, reinstall macOS).

Does the drive work normally when booted, and have you tried making a new drive and seeing if it happens to that drive too? Please, try these and come back.
