Small PSU just for HDDs

Treebie

Hey errybody, I have an unusual build I've been planning to modularize my PC so upgrading/rebuilding will be easier.

So I've been looking to create a DAS via PCIE SATA, but I can't find a compact PSU for powering up to 5 drives (lets assume all mechanical for max power overhead).

I've been looking at flex atx, but a lot of them seem more expensive than buying a normal PC PSU but SFX seems too large for the small enclosure I had in mind (never seen SFX in person tho).

Does anyone have a good suggestion?

For anyone interested in doing something similar I ended up finding an AC to DC power adapter (emosun's recommendation was DC to DC)

https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/sparkfun-electronics/TOL-15664/10650708 so technically the build would require 2 plugs but I think that's the direction I'm going in.

Will have to do some testing to see if it works out (planning on 2 HDD 3 SSD drive array).
