Games for multiple players in a single PC?

first off: Not trying to start a console vs pc war so please don't go there or I'll ignore the comment. Thanks.

 

One way in which I feel consoles are still more accessible than "steambox gaming PC"s is the ability to have friends come over with nothing and playing with multiple controllers.

I've played a couple combat-based games with an XBox controller, are there any PC games out there that could handle two controllers connected for two players to use at the same time?

Grid 2 has split screen on PC.

Grid 2, Worms, Civilization V, Dungeon Defenders, most of the LEGO games, Monaco, Trine 1 & 2 and Awesomenauts all support local co-op in either single or split screen mode.

Split Second Velocity has split screen and is so much fun to play with two players! Also FIFA supports up to 8 players I think. Oh yeah and also Dirt 3 and especially Dirt Showdown are a lot of fun too.

I have spent many hours on my PC playing Smash bros and Mario kart. If you haven't you should give it a try.

I never get old of Zelda. I have all of them on the PC and they never get old.

If you don't need the latest games, use MAME and console emulators, you'll get a massive collection to choose from!

You could even get up to four players on certain titles
