Ant roaming inside monitor

Hey there. I've got a somewhat unconventional problem. For the past three days, I have had an ant roaming around all over the inside of my screen.

 

I've tried luring it out by unplugging everything and leaving a plate full of sugar, chocolate and fruitroll for 20 hours but it's still very much inside moving on and about.

 

At this point I believe that it's stuck because I keeps seeing it hover around the corners but there seem to not be enough space between the bezel and the screen for it to leave. It puzzles me how it got in due to this but hey-oh.

 

I have no clue what else to do to get it out at this point. I've tried calling 20 different places but no one seems to be taking care of stand-alone monitors in my area. I'm super clumsy so dissasembling it and doing it myself scares the bejebus out of me.

 

Anyone has any idea of what I could do to get rid of it? This is my monitor model, in case it helps. Thanks in advance.

a) Search for more, where there's an ant there's 10.000 more. Shake the monitor upside down a bit and see if it falls out.

 

b) I say you gas it with a pump since you can't use sprays or liquids inside a monitor, but poison is... well, poison, highly dangerous to breathe in.

Yes. The only solution I've heard of, short of disassembly, is to wait until the bug is by the edge and squish it there.

Happened to me as well but with a spider

At the end it died at the corner of the screen so it doesn't really bother me.

 

Luckily for me spiders are cannibals and hostile to other spiders so i don't have to worry about more spiders.

Would it be a good idea to use a guitar pick to leave a small gap between the bezel and the screen?

im kind dumb but wont water condense inside of the monitor or am i wrong

No, put it in a bag or wrap in a blanket and don't unwrap it till it warms up. Works for cameras when bringing inside in the winter.

Well you'd think a 1000$ gaming monitor would be air tight, water tight and bug tight. 

 

Guess not. 

 

If you hate ants and money, smash the F out of it with a hammer and buy something that's bug tight.

Happen to me last time where ants stuck in middle. That time I just purchase less than a month. Finally full refund.
