GPU not achieving power limit

You are correct good sir. The OC version of the card is 400W though. Just another bios. You can get the OC bios here: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/234545/palit-rtx3080ti-12288-210405-1 @Bobbysixjp

So I ended up buying a Palit GameRock 3080Ti over the Gaming Pro 3080Ti. The Gamerock should have a default power of 400W and with 114% on the power slider be able to draw 440W. But for some reason I’m getting 350W default and 400W with the power slider at 114%. Any ideas why this is happening?

What use case and load are we talking about? Those numbers are just the maximum (allowed) power draw. That doesn't mean you'll always see it. Maybe there's just not enough load to warrant more power in your case. GPU-Z can tell you what it is limited by.

I tried Superposition 1080p extreme and 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme. In both cases the GPU is at 100% usage but power is around 400W.

350 W * 1.14 = 399 W, so it seems like everything is working as intended.

Ahh, so I have the non-OC version then? Is it safe to download a different BIOS?

Ah didn't know there was an OC version. Another BIOS was my other thought, but then I decided to check the specs first and left it there.

Thanks for your help - it appears I have the non-OC version which correctly runs at 400W.

Rly you should'nt bother running your GPU at 440W, it'll cost you  a ton of heat and additional power bill for a quite small and mostly unobservable around 8% performance uplift over stock...

You mean stock at 350 or 400W?

The OC bios has a 440W limit. Its perfectly fine to flash, but of course theres always a risk. I would flash it without blinking. Remember to run --protectoff before flashing. I was talking over 350W stock but +8% is maybe too low, spending +25% power could give you +10%

400W will put you somewhere in the middle say +5% over stock

Look at the GPU clocks and use some benchmarks to confirm

 

I've toyed with limiting the power of my 3080 (320W), and really -25% power (260W) gives -10/12% and is barely noticeable except maybe in CP2077 🙂

It has a dual BIOS so if it goes wrong, its not the end of the world right?

So grateful for the advice - I flashed it with the OC BIOS and am now hitting max power of 440 W.
