Is it possible to override firmware control over voltage and fans in a laptop in 2022? (Coffee Lake/Turing)

OEMs have become so shitty that it's near impossible to tweak anything apart from clocks. Afterburner, Throttlestop and XTU are pretty much obsolete for us laptop users. What other options do we have?

Which laptop?  You could do that 40 years ago.  It can be pretty inconvenient to do it though.  The oem system was crap for a very long time. I just see the current situation as more of the same.  Them not engineering the airflow on some systems though is new.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
