A question about USB 2.0 headers on a EVGA X299 Dark

So, is there a splitter cable of some sort to be used if i wanted to use 4 individual devices?

A header consists of 9 pins, a single USB port only needs 4. As such a typical USB header cable will have two USB terminations on the end and does not need a splitter. See below.

The EVGA X299 Dark claims to have four USB 2.0 headers on it's motherboard (not including the i/o from what i gather). A quick look at the layout only shows two, but they are marked J47 USBHDR 1/2 & J50 USBHDR 3/4 which in theory is four USB 2.0 connections.... Correct?

I'm confused as to how to use them in a way to hook up four individual USB 2.0 devices.

A single header can provide for two USB ports, therefore two USB headers equal 4 usable USB ports.

But what if my USB 2.0 devices are case mounted and have the 9 pin connectors on them?1358640737__57.jpg.877c1ce4903817e9289d32b669ecaaa5.jpg

Are you able to add pictures of the headers you have available to you so that I can understand your question a bit better please?

The specs for the X299 Dark say "4 USB 2.0 Ports (2 internal headers)". They do not say 4 headers.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Yes, I believe OP has now established that from my response but I think they are trying to figure out how the whole 'two USB ports per header' works if that makes sense? Or at least in terms of how it will work with the case they will be using I think...

Until OP says what the actual devices are, I would assume we're talking about stuff like AIO's that you have to connect to a USB2 header. If he really has four such devices, then this is going to be a bit of a PITA, although he could try his luck with splitters like this
