Which graphics card will my computer support?

Greetings to all. I was wondering which graphics card will function and perform the best in my PC as I'm seeking to replace my present GeForce GTX 1080 Ti one. I was considering the RTX 3080, but since my PC only has GTX at the moment, I was hesitant to get it. Changing a GTX card for an RTX card be effective? I appreciate your support.

There's not a problem with going from a GTX card to an RTX card. They're both made by nvidia, and if you updated your graphics driver recently, chances are they devices will be using the same driver.

 

What CPU are you currently using? Is your power supply good enough for a 3080?

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

RTX is Nvidia's designation for ray tracing graphics cards. They have the ability to handle ray tracing.

What is your goal here?  Are you having performance issues with the 1080Ti?  Just looking to get into DLSS and Ray Tracing?  What is the rest of your system?
