If your GPU is quite heavy, and the backplate is not strong enough to support it, your GPU might sag over time, that thing is to prevent the sagging of heavy GPUs like RTX 3080/RX6800 XT and up.

I used one awhile ago, not that model though.
My GPU was long and heavy so the sag was so visible even on day 1.

if you plan to use one, I suggest getting a model with a wider base, the one you linked look like it will be kinda unstable.

I scavenged a single wire from a dead PSU and suspended mine from a vent hole topside of the case. Some use piano wire.
