New Monitor, Not sure what to get

rowdyjosh02

So in my country (Australia) the Samsung Odyssey G5 is $300 and it the 27icnh 144hrz 1440p but i was looking and im conflicted between getting that monitor or just stick to to 1080p and get the AOC 24G2 for 50 bucks cheaper. I know its different resolution and all, its just im not 100 percent sure on like VA or if the curve will be too much at 1000R

Maybe you can consider others monitor.

For 27" it is better getting 1440p but I am not so encourage you to get Samsung Odyssey G5 as this model using old type VA panel which have black smear issue.

For Samsung Odyssey series, only get G7 and above.

G5 is not a very good monitor - https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/samsung/odyssey-g5-lc27g55t

Curved look nice, better and immersive in 21:9 AP or 32:9 AP. For 16:9 AP it actually look smaller and weird to me especially in 27".

Since you're in Australia my recommendation is Dell S2721DGF if you can wait. Sometimes on eBay it goes for $400-450 per one. Unfortunately you just missed out $400 deal that went off maybe a week ago, so if you can possibly wait a month or two it would likely go on discount again.
