My PC cant handle more than 1 monitor using DP.

mariusks2

My PC cant handle more than 1 monitor using DP. I have tried to use different cables, and ive tried to switch the cables and monitors around and ive found out the cable isnt the problem, the DP port in my 3070 isnt the problem and both monitors ports arent the problem. my PC can see the monitor but it shows as not activeI have 3 monitors. only 1 DP and 1 HDMI works, while the last DP does not work.

I also tried to use 1 DP and 2 HDMI, that works.

I tried to use 2 DP and 1 HDMI that does not work.

My specs are:

  • American Megatrends Bios 0704

  • Windows 10.0.19041 64 bit
  • Intel Core i9-10850K 3.6GHz LGA1200 Tray

  • HyperX Fury DDR4 3600MHz 32GB, 2x16GB
  • ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 DUAL OC
  • WD Black SN750 1TB M.2 SSD

  • Kingston A2000 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD

  • Corsair TX750M, 750W PSU

"the DP port in my 3070"

Just to clarify, all of the monitors are connected to the 3070, correct?

The usual questions here are:
Have you unplugged and restarted everything, even the monitors?
Have you updated your video drivers?

What monitors are you using? some may not be compatible with the card over DP.

Apoligies, didnt see the literal first sentence of your post. Try uninstalling drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (third party tool) and installing the latest one again to see if it makes any difference.

In that case, it sounds like THAT second DisplayPort on the graphics card is faulty / broken. Verify by connecting the working monitor + DP cable to the non-working port.

Okay, even more reasons to point at a broken / faulty DisplayPort port on the RTX 3070.

What happens if you swap the not working monitor to the working monitor's DisplayPort on the RTX 3070.

Does it work?

nope, i have tried to swap and change monitors, cables and switching between the ports. if i swap to the other port it still doesn't work. thats why i dont think its a faulty port. (both ports work 1 by 1 but only one work when both DP ports are used)

i feel like its some software issue with my 3070 that doesn't allow to send 2 DP connections.
