Update. Tested the other motherboard and the left slot still wont work. When i turn it on with this motherboard with the two ram sticks in, it shows a solid white dram light however it turns off after about 10 seconds and just restarts and does it for about 4 times before just staying on but no display and no mouse light up nothing.

Well, my guess is the CPU is damaged then, unfortunately 😕

My pc has been completely freezing recently and nothing works not even the mouse and keyboard. The only way to get it to work again is to restart or turn it off by the front of the case. It has been happening in games and im pretty sure it doesnt when not in games. I have updated gpu drivers, ran sfc scannow and that said that windows resource protection had detected corrupt files and repaired them, i have done windows updates, but it still does it. Today I took out the gpu and reseated it and it still froze, then i took out one of my ram sticks and it still did it, then i took the other stick out and put the one i had taken out back in. I did this about 10 minutes ago so im just waiting to see if it will crash. Whats weird is that about 2 weeks ago, i got a blue screen which i believe said KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. I havent had a blue screen since but ever since that bsod, my cpu has been named Rxzen instead of Ryzen 5 1400. It even says Rxzen in the bios. My cpu voltage also doesnt go above 1 anymore when i think it did before(cant be certain though). Any help is appreciated.

Also i forgot to say but i was planning to upgrade a while back and bought a MSI B450 Tomohawk II and when i put the R5 1400 in it, the gpu would only work in the bottom slot. When i put it in the top it turned on but no display. I replaced the motherboard thinking it was that but then it did the same thing. When i went back to the A320 board it worked in the top slot but only at PCIE 3 X4 speed even though its x16 but i havent noticed any performance loss.

I have never updated the BIOS and the only thing i've changed is XMP.

However i currently have that turned off.

That is good info but I'm not sure what is causing all of this. Still though, I'd update to the latest BIOS and see how that goes.

Update, It crashed with the other ram stick. So i went to put back the other one but it would turn on but no keyboard or mouse lighting up and no display. So i took the left slot out and it worked. Then i put the one that didnt work in the left slot in the right and it worked. So the left ram slot on the mobo wont work but both ram sticks work. Any ideas?

Either broken motherboard or something is wrong with the CPU. Maybe try a reseat of CPU. A bent pin or something like that can cause a RAM channel to stop working 🙂

I reseated the CPU but the left slot still does not work and the CPU is still called Rxzen. Both ram sticks work though when i put them in the right slot. Could this be a motherboard issue? Oh also the DRAM EZDEBUG led lights up white when i put the ram in the left slot.

This is - most likely without doubt - either a CPU or motherboard issue. Did you see any scratches on the side facing the pins in the socket on the CPU?

I guess there's no way to know which one is at fault without testing with either another motherboard or CPU.
