HELP!! Asus z87 Pro, i5-4690

So my asus z87 pro isn't posting with a i5-4690, i've been using it with a i7-4770k and made sure it's updated to the newest bios. i've tried different ram different psu different gpu.

What happens when you turn your PC on with the i5? Where did you get that CPU and are you certain that it works?

so when i turn the pc on all the lights come on it reads 00 on the code readout and the cpu light comes and stays on, i connected a speaker and it gave no beeps. the screen stays no signal

i've also tested the cpu in another mobo and it all works fine

Did you insert it and reset the cmos when it was in the socket?

yep took the battery out and left it for ages, also reset bios to defaults
