Need a recommendation for a mic and headphones (specific use case inside)

OrangePlayer

Hello my sweet Techtonians,

I'm looking to buy some wireless headphones and a microphone because my G930 Logitech headset is pretty beat. Although I was thinking about DYI trying to repair them, I'm a little bit concerned about messing around with a battery that is strapped to my head + I am unsure if I can find all the correct parts. But maybe I'm wrong and DYI is the way to go, let me know your thoughts.

But If I shouldn't DYI my old G930 then I need to replace it and for my replacement I have the following criteria:

  1. It should be wireless. I play long DnD session or game on discord and like to get up once in a while to move around, without missing anything.
  2. It should let me hear clearly what people say on discord or other similar programs (Skype, teams, zoom, etc)
  3. People should be able to clearly hear me
  4. It should have a USB plug  OR  3.5 mm jacks.
  5. A range of at least 60ft (~20m)
  6. And lastly the solution shouldn't be too hot. The G930 was pretty warm to wear in the summer.

Nice to have

  1. The ability to switch to cabled mod

Not important

  1. If it's an all in one solution or if mic and audio are separate
  2. If it's stylish
  3. If music sounds super good
  4. If I have "3D" sound while gaming

My budget is pretty flexible, I would probably be happiest if I got a deal for 80€ but depending on the feedback, could go to 200€.

Anyways I'm quaking in anticipation for your cool underground recommendations!

Look into Steelseries Headphones. A lot of their headphones are wireless but still have a 3.5mm jack. Only requirement of yours that they don't seem to meet is range. I think all of their headsets have a range of around 40 feet.

These headphones also have two volume knobs. One is master volume and the other adjusts the ratio at which you hear each channel. Typically I use mine at 70% on one channel (with discord on it) and the other channel at 30% (with games on it). A perfect 50/50 split makes the audio the same volume.

@TylerD321

Thank you very much for the feedback!

I will take a look at the Steelseries. They volume knob thing sounds like a great feature for my use case!

They're called Arctic, does the name represent? Do you find them comfortable and cool?

They have two different earmuffs, the leather can be a little warm but the default is great.
