This is my first pc build, I will be looking at peripherals but that is not included in the budget. I would like to get a 1440p monitor with a refresh rate of 120Hz or more.

The plan is to somewhat future-proof my build, although I haven't gone DDR5. What can I change?

£110 for that cooler is way too much. You can get better performing ones for way less. AK620 for example. Might even need to go for a 360mm AIO. No idea how hot on average a 125W 12th gen Intel gets.

If you're never gonna do overclocking you can safely get a PRO B660 motherboard.

3600MHz memory is not really needed for intel. Marginal performance gain but you can afford it.

3080 for £800 is extremely overpriced. You'll get the same FPS with a 6800XT while saving yourself some £150.

4000X not the best case for airflow, especially with parts that produce as much heat as this.

I would do something like this. 

 

The 12700F is cheaper. You just lose out on overclocking which isn't a big deal. 

 

Much cheaper cooler. I find that Noctua is always overpriced compared to the competition.

 

Swapped the board for a B660 one. 

 

The Kingston Ram is a bit cheaper as well.

 

Much better SSD, especially as you mention video editing.

 

The Phanteks P400A is £10 cheaper and you get the same amount of fans. The airflow will be better as well due to the mesh front panel.

 

You will be fine with 850W for the psu.

The OP build is fine. 

 

Keep the iCUE 4000X RGB case if you like it. Airflow is not as good as mesh front cases, but is adequate for the build.
