Does anyone know how to get meshnet working with exising file shares on unraid? I tried the linux route provided here: https://support.nordvpn.com/General-info/Features/1872910282/How-to-use-Meshnet-on-Linux.htm

and nothing worked past getting samba installed, any ideas?

Are you just trying to gain access to your shares from outside your LAN?

If so, I would just set up a simple WireGuard container. Super easy and self hosted.

Make sure to always quote or tag people so they know you responded 🙂

What do you mean nords encryption? A WireGuard VPN is encrypted, and since it’s self hosted, no one else has any information about the keys except you. I bet nord runs over WireGuard anyways since it is the most used VPN these days. OpenVPN is still very prevalent in industry, as is ipsec, but WireGuard is quickly replacing them especially in home user use cases as it’s much lighter weight and way easier to set up and admin.
