Streaming Question. Hardware capabilities etc.

Hello all, I didn't know how to ask this Google, so I am asking here:

Currently my wife and I stream to twitch. We stream from my machine (listed below) 960p 60fps at 7400 bit rate using NVEC (new). Streams looks great 👌 However we want to add the ability to show my wife's screen and switch back and forth between hers and mine while we stream, since we stream together.

My default solution to this is getting an elgato 4k 60 pro capture card, putting in my machine and routing an output from her gpu to it. I would just treat the capture card as an additional monitor, so I would only use the input on the capture card.

My question(s) is: Do you think this would add any noticeable performance hit to my machine? Would my machine handle this okay? Is this a stupid idea? is there a better solution?

Sorry I probably edited my post. Refresh plz. Build Specs Below.

With your specs, this should be doable.

Another solution you can look at, is using the NDI protocol to transfer her video stream over the network, instead of buying them Elgato.

But this does need a wired Ethernet connection; WiFi just doesn't hold up. (Or it didn't a couple years ago when I tried it last.)

You would need to setup either OBS+NDI or the NDI utility itself on her system, then the NDI plug-in for your OBS to receive the stream.

So it's a bit more work in software, but it was free last I checked.

The capture card might be easier, but costs a lot more.
