Will wireless Bluetooth headset work with USB C/3.5mm cable? (HP UC Wireless Duo Headset(W3K09UT))

Real_Smoky

Edit: confirmed to work with USBC to USB Micro. Thanks!

Hello!

I have a Bluetooth headset, HP UC Wireless Duo Headset(W3K09UT), and it charges via a USB Micro cable.

When connected to a PC via a USB A to USB Micro cable, it also works as a wired headset.

I wonder if it would work with a cell phone if connected via USB C to USB Micro or 3.5mm jack to USB Micro.

What do you folks think?

Thank you!

USB-C likely yes, should be just same as on the PC. 3.5 pretty much certainly no.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply! What is the reasoning behind why the 3.5 one wouldn't work? Thanks!

USB-C to micro USB is digital to digital, 3.5mm jack to micro USB is analog to digital, which requires a DAC. These are part of the construction of USB-C tot 3.5mm adapters, and not actually part of the phone. They don't convert well to other USB types either, so using an adapter would be pointless. Just stick with the USB-C to micro USB and you should be good.

Thanks again, cable bought, it works. The sound is a bit quiet, but maybe the cable is of low quality, or I need to adjust some settings. No idea. But it works and that's the most important thing.
