Why haven't I heard anything about 3070s in a while?

Just to add a bit to @RONOTHAN##. The 3070 isn't bad. There was a time where pricing on it made a lot of sense to go for. That time not being now doesn't make it a bad card. Reviewers not doing reviews 2 years later doesn't make it a bad card. Reviewers got their money from the card and moved on.

Hi, first time poster and joined to ask this. I got my hands on a 3070 when it first came out. But after the release month I haven't heard anything about this model. Is it just so average in all ways it's in a limbo?

It's a 2 year old mid range graphics card. How long did you hear about the 970, 1070 or 2070 for? What were you hoping to hear about them?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

I really don't know, to be used in builds and feeling justified with my purchase.

It's a fine card and everything, I recommend them on occasion, it's just not usually a card that makes a ton of sense. The 6700 XT or 3060 Ti are both usually much better values, and if you're gonna be going for a card above them, you might as well go for a 3080 instead since the prices on them have dropped so much. It's a good card, it's just not super interesting. It's not low enough end to recommend them to absolutely everyone like something like an RX 6600 XT, and it's not high end enough to be droop worth like a 3080 or 6900 XT.

In the context you said here. I guess I just found a middle ground between everything and bought when/what I could.

Does it do what you want with it? Are you happy with it? Then who cares what reviewers aren't doing with a 2 year old card anymore?

https://pcpartpicker.com/builds/#g=494

128 pages of 3070 builds on PCPP.

https://pcpartpicker.com/builds/#g=425

84 pages of 2070 builds on PCPP. Does that help?

If you bought it at release, it was a pretty good decision, mostly because it was the only card you could realistically get your hands on. I wouldn't feel bad about it or anything.

3050 and 6400xt have kept that one very relevant as a new low end card.
