Help my laptop gets VERY hot

Help as stated above my laptop gets very hot to the touch when it charges or runs even the simplest of tasks. I want to open it up and see what is happening, however doing so will void the warranty and I don't want to break anything. All of my data is on my laptop (until I finish building my pc) and I do everything on it. I don't know what to do

You could ring HP and state the problem you are having and see what they say?

Your situation is high risk low reward. Either get it done by a professional or create a new thread in the next couple days which goes like "HELP I tried to open up my laptop to clean it but snapped something and now it wont turn on!!"

You don't need to specifically call HP.

 

If you're unwilling to contact the manufacturer and you're unwilling to void your warranty by opening it up(either yourself or by a third party), then you're basically just stuck here.
