ELECTRICIAN KNOWLEDGE: Which of these power supply adapters will work with this exercise machine?

I have a Reebok GB40s Exercise bike that I haven't used in a while. - See the required power supply as per the label on the machine below.

I have found a power adapter that fits the exercise machine, but I can't remember if it is the adapter that goes with the machine. Would it work with the exercise bike and would you say it is safe to use?

If not, I have seen these other 2 adapters online that are supposed to work with for the same machine that I can buy and have specifically mentioned my model number in the listing. Which one would be the best/safest to buy based on the power stats on the plug? (they cost the same roughly).

Its the correct voltage (9V) and current (0.5A) and the polarity is correct (+ inner) so as long as the plug fits in the jack it should work

I think you can use an adapter that supplies a higher current than needed without any trouble.  All the plugs (0.5A, 1.0A, 1.5A) are above what the equipment needs (0.5A), so they should all work fine, since they have the right voltage and polarity.

I see. So I guess normal power adapters work just like computer power supply units, where it only draws the power required needed? E.g. I could use a 1500W PSU for a computer only using 200W and it would still work fine and safely.

Correct. They don't "force feed" amps / current. That's just the amount of current they are capable of supplying. The device will only draw what it needs. 

 

So you may find the "larger" ones run cooler, as they are designed to handle more of a load.
