Is it bright enough?

Hello hello!

I'm furnishing my living room and I need a TV. In my bedroom I have the 48" LG C1 but for the living room I'm not sure if the C2 will be bright enough.

for reference I've added some pictures and a video to show the living room at the end of the evening when the sun is stronger. I want to put a 65" TV on that wall where the window is. so, no direct sun light.

Do you think the C2 is bright enough or do i need to go something more fancy?

Thanks

You have sufficient space to put a projector screen in that location.  And if you are already planning to use blackout curtains for when the device is in use--a projector may a lot of sense.

At first, I thought you were talking about the wall on the right, because that entertainment stand would be perfect for placing a UST projector on....

The C2 is likely OK for that room.

As hinted at - if you're worried about brightness, CURTAINS are the answer. If curtains are NOT the answer because of some other factor (e.g. significant other) - then you'd probably want something like a Samsung QN90A or QN90B. Here's the LTT review on the lower end version, the 85A - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jM-ED97_vKo

Here's the RTINGs review of the 90A.

Compare against the C2.

As an aside - when in doubt, do a test. Movie your C1 into the living room temporarily. It's "close enough" to the C2 to serve as a proxy.

It'll be plenty bright. I have an LG CX in a room with a big window and a sliding glass door. The TV can be comfortably used during the day and you can always use black-out curtains for extra help.

Yeah.. the woman acceptance factor made me go for a Samsung mini LED QN85 TV instead of adapting the living room to the TV.

My room is probably brigher than your because windows are closer but I am not disappointed with my purchase. Contrasts are good enough is most cases and reds are a lot better than an OLED

I have the Sony A80J in ~50" size, and it works just fine in a fairly well lit room. In your own examples, direct sunlight glare is usually the worst enemy, and you won't have any direct sunlight.

I know you already went with the Samsung QN85, but any current gen modern OLED's like the C1 or A80J would all be just fine in that environment.
