do people use the nivida sheild portable anymore?

I see them on ebay for $200+ and these things run quite old K1 SoCs and android versions, that said can one be used for cloud/home server streams if I use my mobile hotspot?

Well, at least one person does: Linus. He talks about it briefly in one of his recent new house videos. 

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

It's a device from mid-2013 with a 5" 720p screen.

I imagine you'd have a better experience buying cheap Chinese phones.

Well you mentioned that it was selling for about $200, so you can get current-generation Chinese phones at that price.

The whole reason it's still so expensive is because it's a unique product. It really isn't worth that money looking purely at the device itself.
