an use them on the ymdk wings would i still get the space gap between the keys this is important to me

my planned build is the ymdk with plus the keycaps off the 2088-Black

with a full set of KAILH BOX DARK YELLOW SWITCHES an GLORIOUS O-RING SWITCH DAMPENERS 40a soft

either thin or thick not sure which would be best

note i like a heavier trigger

an my reason for wanting the low profile caps off that

board

is iv got on my current pc build a drop swift with

kailh heavy box ancient greys an on the num pad the box dark yellows

with these caps - Retro Steampunk Keycaps Set

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B089763442?psc=1

i like the gap spacing an the round shape but for ymdk id like square ones

but cant find a good stand alone set other then the one on the mentioned

2088-Black an i was just trying to confirm the 2088-Black caps on the

ymdk wings board would still have the gap spacing ?

The YMDK Wings on paper is a great Arisu layout keyboard. You can get a hotswap version of it, here's the link.

You can include some dampening foam/pads but be aware that it might affect the backlight of the keyboard. As for the keycaps from the 2088 Black, I don't think generally there's any issue using a prebuilt keyboard's keycaps on a custom keyboard if the keycaps itself supports MX style switch AND MX style stabilizers. Some mechanical keyboards uses costar stabilizers instead of MX style, so keycaps that supports costar stabilizers would not fit MX style stabilizers that the YMDK Wings are using.

The second thing about using the keycaps from the 2088 Black is to make sure it has the correct keycap mod sizes for the YMDK Wings. I would recommend getting a keycap set that has the kitting to support this layout rather than salvaging from a prebuilt keyboard due to this issue. Below is an image showing all the different sizes you need.

For the switch part, personally I do not like switches modded with O rings or silent switches due to the fact that bottoming out feels very bad, but its all due to circumstances and preference so no judging here. If you got the budget for it, you can try Gazzew Bobagum switches, I heard they're pretty good silent linears. Hope this long comment helps in your judgement.
