Need help getting a fan controller please

Can anyone provide a 1 fan hub controller with a sliding lever to test the fan from 0-100%?? I should state I have no pc and only a laptop with me but I have fans in storage that I wanna test with the hub if anyone can recommend any.

Where will the fan go ? For a laptop you may rather use "cooling" stands with fans

no no I know i just want something to test a fan i only mentioned a laptop so people dont tell me to use the fan header on the mobo i dont have lol

Gotcha, then you just need a 4pin to USB adapter cable like this one, no need for a hub :

pwm the whole reason is to see how loud the fan would be in a case or open test bench

usb can only do 5v passably type c can do 12v

Ok then OP can't get what he needs, as his laptop can only use USB...

ya you need an molex or sata controller then some way of getting 12v too it and have it stand alone nothing to do with the laptop.

 

i cant seem to find a barrel plug to sata but i found a barrel to molex then you need to buy a dc to xx size barrel plug then buy the sata/ molex controller ether one that can hook up by external (with another cable) usb like razers pwm controller or a 5.25 bay controller that shows rpm. but thows go up by a persent most of the time so you cant fine tune it at 1% at a time like othere out there.

 

that or use a psu and make it run external with the green wire to ground method that would get you sata and molex. probably be cheaper too.

 

i guess a pwm fan would need a pwm single so i dont think a 5.25 bay controller would work. so i guess i would have to be the usb controller...
