Timing it to see how long it takes before the cease and desist drops. 🙃

Believe me, if Sony feels wronged or "Insulted" by this they will take action - Just can't say what it would be until it happens....
If it happens.

Good luck.

I need a wired controller. The wireless chip on my PS3 Slim is pretty kaput.

Funfact a PS4 controller works if you keep it plugged in

I understand from YT comments that this thing was quite a pain for devs.... but it looks AMAZING. The front bezel, all the connectors, buttons, LEDs... the HDD trays! It has kind of Hi-Fi gear feel.

As someone who has been active in the Playstation 3 "hacking" scene i can tell you that most of the functionality of the development kit can be used on most retail units with the help of the REBUG REX firmware.

The most useful feature there is the Fake save data owner option which allows you to use save games from other units without resigning the save.

I personally have the OG 4 port backwards compatible CECHC04 (1st retail revision of the console in Europe).

Fan fact - You can control the fan curve of your PS3 with software mods 😉

Maybe because Sony makes Hi-Fi stuff:

I know the controller argument is as old as time, but as someone who still uses a PS3 and has multiple working controllers...

If you never keep them charged/never use them, of course the battery will fail. You could buy a brand new item, not use it for 3 years, and the battery will be toast. The PS3 controller batteries aren't trash, if I can keep them going for 22 years without spending a dime, that's certainly "good enough" in my book.

If you do have a failed battery, they're super cheap and it takes less than a minute to swap. I understand, "put rechargeable in the 360 controller", but I, and many others, can't stand the bulky battery cover.
