pressing enter after entering pincode

Well, I switched to a new laptop and evrytime i log in with my pin i have to press enter to unlock it, im on windows 10.

Is there any way to fix this or is it permanent

laptop is a msi gf63 11uc

Not sure what you mean. Windows 10 has always done that. I think I even recall way back when Windows 10 came out, Linus complained about this exact thing in a video.

It depends, I'm on Windows 11 and there isn't that requirement HOWEVER I've seen several posts from people with this issue on 10 and 11 and the fix seems to be removing any other login methods (password, face, etc) first and then it won't need you to press enter.

I only have local pin login so that might explain it for me.

 

Edit:

Others say setting the pin to alphanumeric from numeric only does it while even more say it's the opposite when setting up the pin.
