850W PSU enough for an 3090 + 1070 GPUS ?

em_lab
Go to solution Solved by ColdFusion04,

Ryzen 9 5950x = 105W

RTX 3090 = 350W, up to 535W peak (from techspot.com)

GTX 1070 = 145W, up to 352W peak (from techspot.com)

SATA HDD = up to 16W

3 SSD NVMe = up to 12W (PCIE4)

So imho 850W can become a fairly tight fit, under full load from all components your system would draw 628W (1020W peak).

If you remove the GTX 1070, 850W is enough.

Hi i would like to know if an 850w corsair PSU could handle

one rtx3090 + one gtx1070 + Ryzen 5950x + 1 sata hdd + 3ssd nvme ?

i planing to buy this rtx 3090 and i´m worry about the psu

and i would like to have both gpus in the same pc

thanks for your advice

I wouldn't risk it myself. At least 1200w to cover transient spikes (big jumps in power demands). This is a guesstimate though.

With your config, it seems your 850W PSU is plenty. But why do you want the GTX 1070 in the PC?

Disagree, you're not taking into account transients.  Fairly sure I've seen some people with a 3080 alone causing an 850W to power off/reboot.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)

because it helps to have multi gpus rendering or decharge the 3090 while you can use the 1070 for others soft and keep the 3090 only form 3d rendering

Helps in what way?  Having an extra GPU adds a decent amount of extra idle power consumption.
