Amazon Used Ryzen 7 5800x

Odin0425

Did you actually receive it yet?

Inspect closely when you do. With the way Amazon returns and Amazon Warehouse work, it could be fine... or it could be an Athlon in the box, or it could have a bunch of pins missing.

i buy warehouse deals all the time, they are very good about returns if something is wrong with it, so definitely worth a try. i might buy one..

I did, It was literally new in box, I had to cut the seal. The box had a couple of crumples in it, but the processor runs great. I paired it with an asus x570 board and, while it runs hotter than all get out (80c+ under load), its boost seems to go right around 4.7-4.8ghz with stock asus settings. I had to research if this was normal or not as I was upgrading from a Ryzen 5 1600, so im not used to the automatic overclocking based on thermal headroom.

I suggest you research other categories on the forum for posts you have some experience with or read a few guide posts, build logs and comment there.

You don't have to do it artificially.

I started by just going through the active posts to see if there was anything I could add. I'm real good at troubleshooting, so I camped out there.
